Day 1 - April 16th
Mehendi & Tilak - 10 am
A combination of traditional Hindu pre-wedding ceremonies. For Tilak and Godhbarai, the families come together to share a formal invitation to marriage and provide the bride and groom with their blessings. In parallel, we will have the Mehndi ceremony where women (and men if they would like) get Henna designs applied to their hands and feet which is a type of temporary tattoo. It is a way to wish the bride good health and prosperity (and look really good as well of course!). The ceremonies will be followed by lunch.
Suggested Attire: Light Indian traditional
Location: Jaypee Residency Manor
Engagement & Sangeet - 7 pm
Come in your snazziest outfits to join the bride and groom for an evening of food, drinks, and lots & lots of dancing! We will begin with an engagement ceremony where the bride and groom exchange rings followed by choreographed dance performances by different groups of friends and families. After the dance performances it will be a free for all dance party hopefully well into the night, dinner will be served during the event.

Day 2 - April 17th
Haldi - 11 am
An auspicious and traditional pre-wedding ritual in Hindu weddings. We invite you to the fun and joyous Haldi ceremony where you may apply a Turmeric & Sandalwood paste to the bride and groom’s faces to purify and bless the couple before the wedding.

Wedding Celebrations - 5 pm
The main event starts with the groom’s family and friends assembling to form the Baarat party (will be provided with turbans to wear) and dancing their way in a procession to the wedding altar (louder the better so the bride knows we are coming!). The Baarat will be met by the bride’s family at the altar where the bride and groom will exchange garlands (known as Jaimaal) which will be followed by some more dancing and the reception dinner.
Suggested Attire: Indian traditional
Location: Jaypee Residency Manor
